The Seeff Dolphin Coast team is led by experienced businessmen Andreas Wassenaar, Mark Johnson, and Tim Johnson. The Seeff Dolphin Coast License was taken over by the current management team at the end of 2009 and is proving to be a leading and innovative player in the local Real Estate industry. The company has been awarded the coveted Licensee of the Year award in 2011 and 2013 as well as the Marketer of the Year award in 2012 and 2013.
Andreas Wassenaar - Principal
Andreas Wassenaar graduated from the University of Cape Town’s commerce faculty with a B.BusSc. in Mathematical Economics  and an Honours in Business Finance . After travelling and working internationally for five years in the UK, Germany, the US, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia, Andreas returned to South Africa in 1995 where he formed North Shore Properties. This Company offered a complete property development, marketing and sales and property administration solution. In 1997 Andreas joined forces with step-father Bobby Jameson and together they developed 68 ultra luxury homes over a period of 7 years in the then newly launched Zimbali Coastal Resort. At the end of 2003 Andreas was recruited by the Zimbali master developer to be their Zimbali Sales & Marketing Director, where he elevated the Zimbali brand onto an international playing field by winning the coveted five star CNBC INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY AWARD for Best International Property Marketing worldwide for three consecutive years (2006-2008). Being an entrepreneur to the core, Andreas took the opportunity to buy the Seeff Properties license for the Dolphin Coast in 2009. Andreas was appointed as the Chairman for Seeff KZN in 2012 and represents the province on the Seeff Natcom board.
Mark Johnson- Director
The unique experience of growing up in a rural trading store environment between the battlefields of Isandlawana and Rorke’s Drift enabled Mark to carve a niched professional career in a changing South Africa. After a year in the USA and three years at University, Mark spent fourteen years in the Sugar Industry on the North Coast before moving to Johannesburg to join the largest face-to-face communications company in Africa. After several years of interfacing with large corporate companies Mark turned his focus to Consulting in the Private and Public sector during the birth of South Africa’s democracy. He developed and facilitated Leadership Programmes for executive and middle management that were relevant to the “new South Africa” as well as facilitating Strategic and Organizational Development processes for large Corporate and Public Sector organizations. Primarily focusing on “transformation” and “global competitiveness” and using participative processes that were contextually relevant Mark has worked “from Boardroom to Shop floor” When approached three years ago to invest in Seeff Dolphin Coast Mark jumped at the opportunity to put his Strategic and People Development experience and passion for property into practice. Mark implemented a people centred and knowledge based system that today ensures that Seeff Dolphin Coast provides strategic information that enables our clientele to make informed investment decisions. Mark now heads up the Commercial, Agricultural and Rentals divisions for the business.
Tim Johnson- Sales & Marketing Director
Born and raised on the North Coast as a part of the well-known Ladlau family who previously owned and farmed what is now Simbithi Eco Estate, Tim completed his studies at Kearsney College and then ventured further afield to complete a Bachelor’s Degree at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. With a passion for Advertising and Marketing, cultivated after some hard-earned experience, Tim formed his own Brand Consultancy in Johannesburg specialising in Property and Destination Marketing. With over 8 years in the game, and with a string of Golf Estates, Property Developments, Hotels and Restaurants under his belt, Tim decided to move back to the North Coast with his family to appreciate a balanced lifestyle and pursue other opportunities. Tim’s return to the Ballito area coincided with Seeff Dolphin Coast’s planned expansion and re-structuring process and the opportunity arose to become a part of this growing local company. Having gained a significant amount of experience in Sales and Marketing in the Property industry, Tim’s skills have been utilized to manage and grow the Seeff Ballito Sales Team and Developer/Estate relationships as well as build on the solid brand base that Seeff has established. Tim adds a youthful energy and passion to the team and loves the day to day challenges and opportunities that the Property industry presents.
