Incorporating social consciousness into their model of business practice has been a genuine part of Seeff Dolphin Coast’s modus operandi for over 4 years now. Extending this reach into the community even further Seeff Dolphin Coast have taken on some additional projects which includes lending support to the “Riding for Beanz Campaign” and assisting the fledging mountain biking sport at the local Umhlali Preparatory School.
To encourage more children to get onto bikes, Seeff Dolphin Coast has been working very closely with both the parents and the school to assist their endeavour to offer mountain biking as an official sport at Umhlali Preparatory School. Mountain biking has grown from around 10 participating children at the beginning of 2017 to over 50 learners from grades 2 to 7 currently. Rides take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays leaving from the school and going out onto the MTB Holla trails and surrounding farms.
Seeff Dolphin Coast, together with Talisman Hire Ballito, assisted in purchasing a Gazebo which Umhlali Preparatory School uses at the KZN inter schools Spur Series races held annually at 4 different school locations within the KwaZulu-Natal province. This Spur Series is part of national event in which over 10 000 participants across the country represent their schools racing in a fun racing environment. In just a short period of time Umhlali Preparatory School has positioned 4th overall in the Primary Schools category with learners Josh Johnson and Erin Mackridge both finishing 3rd in their respective categories. Umhlali Preparatory School has even higher hopes this year. Both Seeff and Talisman have been supportive to the growth and development of this sport, which is one of the fastest growing sports nationally, not only at this school but also in the community as a whole.
Kidney Beanz Trust supports children with life threatening kidney disease and those waiting for kidney transplants through comprehensive therapies and support services. This year Seeff Dolphin Coast is lending their backing to the exceptionally amazing foundation. This support is through assisting two dedicated mountain bikers, namely Andrew Johnson and Owen Green, who are putting their bodies through 8 days of extreme racing in this years’ ABSA Cape Epic with a focus to attract donations for this amazingly worthwhile cause. For the children of the Kidney Beanz Trust these two stalwart riders will be their super heroes.
“By supporting such a meaningful organisation we really do want to make a difference in people’s lives” says Tim Johnson marketing and sales director for Seeff Dolphin Coast. “Through these targeted activities, as well as several other unique undertakings we have planned for this year, we want the fact that Seeff cares to resonate in everything we do.
